The Stool Makeover
September 19, 2013
If you were reading back at the end of October last year, you may remember I posted about this stool I bought cheaply. It's taken me til now to actually make it over and that's mainly because I couldn't decide what fabric to use to re-cover the seat.
I finally decided to go with an animal print (faux fur) and leopard was the front runner until I came across this black and white cheetah print in Spotlight. Spotlight's range of faux fur is the nicest I could find as it doesn't have that matted and chewed look some faux fur fabrics can have.
Anyway, here we are, all re-covered. The original fabric was hessian that had been dyed black and was crunchy to the touch. I didn't bother taking photos of the re-covering steps because they're not going to mean anything unless you have this stool, right? It's pretty straightforward though - unscrew seat, remove old fabric, cut new fabric and attach to the seat, then fix the seat back to the stool. Super easy.
