This post is for Rosie, who left me a comment asking which paints I had used for some of my spray paint projects, as I realised a couple of days after responding that I'd told her the wrong ones! So here are all the brands and colours I have used for spray painting stuff (so far!):
Green Buddha - White Knight Squirts Bright Green
White Elephant - Dulux Spraypak Undercoat, Paint Partner Gloss White
Blue Buddha - White Knight Squirts Bermuda Blue
Pink Elephant - White Knight Squirts Fuchsia
White Planter - Dulux 1 step Primer, Paint Partners Gloss White
Pink Frog Sprinkler - White Knight Rust Guard All Purpose Primer, Dulux Pink Flamingo, White Knight Squirts Clear Gloss top coat
Pink & Gold Jar - White Knight Rust Guard All Purpose Primer, Dulux Pink Flamingo, Dulux Spraypak Gold (knob on lid)*
Garden Pots - Dulux Spraypak Undercoat, Paint Partners Gloss White
Drinks Tub - White Knight Rust Guard All Purpose Primer, White Knight Rust Guard Epoxy Enamel White
Chevron Lamp base - White Knight Rust Guard All Purpose Primer, Paint Partner Spray Paint Gloss White*
Bench Seat - Dulux 1 step primer, Paint Partners Gloss White.
IKEA Expedit hack - backing board sprayed using Fiddly Bits Flat Black.
* I only used the Rust Guard primer here to finish off the can
All the paints listed above (and pictured below) are from Bunnings.
Remember to do your spray painting in a well ventilated area and always wear a mask. I normally set up my spray area out on the back lawn (using a giant piece of cardboard as the base) but if it gets windy, I move under the carport - the wind is your enemy when spray painting! Always make sure you buy the right paint for your project and prepare the surface as per the directions on the can.
So that covers all the house-related spray paint projects done to date. If you want to see more, I've made a new tab underneath my header for 'Spray Paint Projects' so either click on that or the chevron lamp picture over to the right :)

Great tips! I haven't spray painted anything YET. I'm sure once I start I wont stop. I collected some glass bottles from work drinks the other day that I will give a go! Will let you know how I go!!!
ReplyDeleteThe bottles sound like a great idea, sweetness. Look forward to seeing the finished product!

ReplyDeleteI've been inspired too. I told hubby to spray our brown pic frames from Ikea white. He's done half of them.
The frames sound great, Ling!

ReplyDeleteI love to read your post, you write so precisely and explain every concept nicely.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same boat, haven't started spraying yet but can see the addiction setting in before I've even begun...
ReplyDeleteI won a huge batch of Plasti-Kote from uktoolcentre.co.uk and I'm assessing everything I own to see what I can improve. This could go wrong...
