I'm getting all the bits and pieces together to decorate the pool deck and I think I'm done, including even getting an umbrella at IKEA over the Australia Day long weekend when they were having an IKEA Family sale - I picked up this one in white for under $50. Luckily we already had an umbrella base which fitted perfectly (just a good guess!). There are lots of beige, blue and black umbrellas out there, but finding a well-priced white one was harder than I thought.
My other buys of the bargain variety - the chevron bowl from Woolworths, which I'm pretty sure is the most Instagrammed bowl at the moment (I bought 2 of the other designs before Christmas). At $2.95 a bowl they are such great value! The blue & white striped Dixie cups are from The Reject Shop and are $2 (also available in pink & white and pink & red stripe designs).
Remember the $6 towels I mentioned here? Well the physical store Clique Brands had closed last week and they were selling off the last of the towels for $4 each - at that price I figured it couldn't hurt to have extra towels to keep by the pool. And the black & white stripe cushions? I actually made these a few years back but they've been in storage for the past few months while we've been building. At least that's one less job to do!
Have you come across any bargain decorating buys recently?

I love a good bargain find, my best have been curbside on the school run! Just last week nabbed a gorgeous new wooden shoe rack to replace my old dodgy ikea one. mel x
ReplyDeleteNice work, Mel!
DeletePretty pictures. The deck is going to be amazing. Can't wait for more pics. Kx
ReplyDeleteI hope the deck ends up looking good, especially after all this time ;)
DeleteYou and your bloody chevron!! ;P
ReplyDeleteThey looks great Nat.
Awww, I liked the bowl because of the colour! I have more stripes in the house than chevron!
ReplyDeleteVery nice loot :) I love that bowl too. Yes it looks a bit familiar :) I love the color scheme you have going on.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katja :) Just have to put it all together on the deck now.
DeleteLove all the colours, and well done on the bargain hunting! You can find such good things if you hunt around at Kmart etc. xx
ReplyDeleteYes, Kmart is another good place for bargains!

ReplyDeleteI havent been shopping much lately so sadly no bargains to report of late ... except for a $6 dress I bought from the op shop for an Audrey Hepburn costume :)
Sounds like someone went to a costume party! Will we get to see the costume on your blog?

ReplyDeleteMy favourite things too!
DeleteHi Natalie, just came across your blog through Pinterest - I love it! :D Love how you write and your photos are gorgeous. Looking forward to sitting down with a cup of tea and getting stuck into it. I am so impressed with your chevron bowl from Woolies and your Reject Shop find... I've never seen these there so I am going to have a hunt for them next time. (I always thought that The Reject Shop was seriously underrated!)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your lovely comment, Maya! Definitely check out the bowls at Woolies, they are such cute little accessories for a small price :) The Reject Shop is great isn't it - always come out of there with something!
DeleteI love a good bargain. You just have to be at the right place at the right time don't you?
