The Frog Sprinkler: Pretty in Pink
February 7, 2013
Here it is, the result of the Frog Sprinkler makeover vote! He is certainly looking a little bit rosier than the last time we saw him. No tripping hazards with him painted this colour, that's for sure...
This DIY job was easy - a good scrub, 2 coats of spray primer, followed by 2 coats of Dulux's Pink Flamingo spray paint. I then did 1 coat of gloss top coat but I don't think it made any difference to the glossiness to be honest. I'm curious to see how long and well the finish on the sprinkler lasts with it being outside even though the spray paint is marked for exterior use.
I know a giant pink frog sprinkler isn't everyone's cup of tea but a little bit of quirkiness in the garden never hurt anyone ;)

Love, love, love! Looks brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI now have the urge to spray paint something pink....
Once you start you won't stop, Emma!
DeleteLove it! Looks great with the blue grey behind it too. I think having a giant frog sprinkler is quirky anyway, may as well own it with some hot pink. mel x
ReplyDeleteWell that's it - might as well go the whole hog (or frog?)!
DeleteIts official you are the queen of the spray can! Im sure that frog is going to turn into a princess as soon as she gets a kiss lol :) Love it
ReplyDeleteLol, finally Queen of something!
DeleteYou definitely picked a great color. The right color. Love your frog!!! It looks so great with the gray fence in the background.
ReplyDeleteIs he happy on the lawn there?
Thanks, Katja! I'm not sure he's that happy. He looks like he is just tolerating things really, doesn't he?

DeleteHoly pink frog!!! Didn't notice his frown until he turned pink....not happy Jan!! Bahahahaha so much fun :) Neen
ReplyDeleteNo, he's not very happy at all!
DeleteTop job Nat.
ReplyDeleteI do have a concern though. I think this is more of a toad rather than a frog. Maybe another poll is in order?
Nobody likes a picky commenter, Gerry ;) Toad is such an ugly word! Toad he may be, but frog he shall be named! I'll set him on you next time you visit if you persist with toad!
DeleteWell then, great job on the pink toad called "frog" :P
DeleteLol, thanks then!
DeleteFab as always Natalie... hope you are happy with him being pink over gold :) xx Tina
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think the pink looks pretty good now it's done ;)
DeleteHi, just wanted to say I really enjoy reading your blog! I LOVE the frog sprinkler! Who knew you could change the look of something so drastically with just some spray paint. Can’t wait to try it out myself :)
ReplyDelete- Fran
Thanks, Fran! Spray painting is a cheap way to makeover stuff - definitely worth trying!
